Today is the beloved Mimizzle's birthday....I called her at 7:50 this morning while on my way to work so that I
could be first in best wishing her on her birthday...and learned that my brothers both totally tried to cheat. (We have something of a rivalry over "who loves her best", which I know is stupid, since clearly
I love her best. Duh.) Older brother had her over for dinner at his house Tuesday night --- 2 full days before her birthday, as I'm sure he felt that being "early" equals being "first". It does not. Younger brother called her
yesterday to forewarn her that he'd only put her card in the mail that very day, and although it was going to be late, it was on its way. Uh, yeah. That shit isn't gonna fly either. So my call went something like this:
"
Good morning, Mimi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I love you.... am I first?"And then she said a bunch of shit, I don't remember what, because I was first, and that's all that matters.
Clearly, I love her best. Oh, and then I told her that we'd just wait and do her card and her present when she gets here next week, because it's more special to do it in person, even if it's late. She totally went for that.
Can we just talk for a second about how fly she is?
Too bad I look like my dad.
Geez.

Vino: Those pics happened to be taken literally hours after I'd spent a week getting all leathered up at the beach. Mimi is normally very dark complected but sensibly has begun a daily sunscreen regimen...something that my "not getting any younger" skin needs to begin as well!
Ron: What's funny is my nephew had added her birthday to a "calendar" feature on her phone...so at 12:01 this morning she got a little wake-up call/reminder! She was not impressed.
